Registration Categories

To be a registered Exercise PROfessional with FitnessSG you must have completed a relevant Fitness Qualification and hold current first aid and CPR certification.
The fitness qualification requirements for entry into each Registration Category include:

Pre-Choreographed Instructor

To register as a Pre-Choreographed Instructor you are required to hold a Choreographed Group Exercise or Training Certification such as Les Mills, Zumba, Plioxing etc

Fitness Instructor (FI)

To register as a Fitness Instructor you are required to hold a Fitness Instructor Certification (or equivalent)

Group Exercise Instructor (GEI)

To register as a Group Exercise Instructor you are required to hold a Certified Group Exercise Instructor qualification (or equivalent) from a recognised governing body

Personal Trainer (PT)

To register as a Personal Trainer you are required to hold a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) qualification (or equivalent) from a recognised governing body

Exercise Specilaist (ES)

To register as an Exercise Specialist you are required to hold an Advanced or Specialist Certification/Qualification (CSCS, HC, Physiotherapy, MSc etc) or equivalent from a recognised governing body or authority, in addition to holding your valid Certified Personal Training Certification

As an ExPRO, you must also

  • abide by the Exercise Professional Code of Ethics
  • deliver fitness services within the professional boundaries of your qualifications and Scope of Practice and
  • commit to ongoing professional development

Your Profile – Recognising your professional knowledge and skills

In addition to your registration category (as related qualifications), your online exercise professional registration profile will display the delivery knowledge and skills that you’ve attained through continuing education, experience and expert certification programs.

During your registration, you can upload relevant documentation as evidence that you’ve completed approved CEC programs and events, share your professional accomplishments, acknowledgements and also share your professional experience and expertise.

As your delivery knowledge and skill profile grows, it will be evident to potential clients, employers and referring health professionals that you are committed to participating in current, high quality education to keep your knowledge and skills up to date.
